I was born and raised in West Virginia, which means no place feels like home unless it’s characterized by rolling hills, far too many trees, and a coal train that whistles in the night.

I fell in love with stories at age seven, wrote a mystery novel in a composition notebook at age nine, and finished my first full-length book at age 16.

In college, I became a pharmacist out of curiosity and practicality and because I figured drug knowledge would come in handy for story-writing (it does).

I married my favorite person in the world in 2014. We now live in Texas with two small, precious people–Jack Robert and Laura Ruth. Being a mom is even better than writing, and that’s saying something.
